🤖 Meet the New Brainbox
@Tabs across all your accounts. 11 built-in /Skills. Upload files, screenshot anything, and check your tone — all from one panel.
If you've been using Brainbox to summarise the odd page or translate a paragraph, there's a lot more here now. We've rebuilt the panel, added 11 built-in Skills (up from 3), and made it possible to reference any tab from any account in the same conversation. There's also file uploads, screenshots, a pop-out panel, voice input, and a YouTube Transcript Skill on the way.
Here's what's changed and why it matters.
What's New
The previous Brainbox had a chat panel with Summarize, Translate, and Draft Reply. It worked, but it was limited. Here's what we've added.
@Mention Any Tab, From Any Account
Type @ in the prompt box and you'll see a list of your open tabs. Pick one — or several — and Brainbox reads the page for you. Ask it to summarise, compare, extract data, or answer questions using that tab as context.
The thing that makes this unique: it works across all your Spaces and accounts. You can @mention your work Gmail in one tab and a client's Jira board in another, in the same conversation. Compare pricing across two supplier portals. Cross-reference a support ticket with your internal docs. Because Brainbox is built into Wavebox, it can reach across account boundaries that a browser extension simply can't.
11 Built-In Skills
Every one is available from /s in the prompt box or from the right-click menu on any page, and every one is fully editable — change the prompt to match how you work.
- Compare Articles — produce a structured comparative analysis of two or more articles.
- Chat with PDF — upload a document and ask questions about it. Brainbox quotes the original with page references.
- Draft Reply — get a reply that matches the tone of the original message.
- Grammar — fix errors without changing your style or meaning.
- Meeting Notes — turn messy notes into structured minutes with action items.
- Rewrite — improve clarity while keeping the meaning intact.
- Simplify — explain complex text in plain language.
- Summarize — one-sentence TLDR plus 3–5 key points.
- Task List — extract action items into a prioritised checklist.
- Tone Check — find out how your message will land before you send it.
- Translate — translate into any language while preserving tone and style.
- YouTube Transcript — timestamped transcript, summary, and key quotes from any video (coming soon).
There are also lots of prompt libraries available online if you want to add more Skills.
Upload Files, Paste Content, and Screenshot Anything
The + button (Attach content) in the prompt box lets you pull in context from several sources:
- Recent tabs — quickly attach page content from tabs you've been working in.
- Attach all tabs in window — pull in every tab in a window at once, so Brainbox can work across all of them in a single conversation.
- Paste from clipboard — copy a table, a code snippet, or a chunk of text and paste it straight into the chat.
- Tab screenshot — capture a snapshot of your current tab.
- Upload files — PDFs, documents, spreadsheets. Brainbox reads the file and you can ask questions about it, get summaries, or extract data.
There's also a Screenshot (📷) button — click the camera icon, drag to capture a region of your current tab, and send it to Brainbox. Useful for error dialogs you don't understand, charts you want analysed, or UI mockups you need described. Screenshot it, ask your question, and Brainbox works with what it sees.
One Panel Per Tab
Here's something you'll notice quickly: Brainbox remembers what you were doing on each tab. Open the panel on your Gmail tab and start drafting a reply. Switch to a Slack tab and open another — your Gmail conversation is still there when you go back.
Every tab gets its own conversation, so you can have a summary running on one, a translation on another, and a tone check on a third — all at the same time, all independent. You can even open multiple panels at once and pop them out side by side.
Pop-Out Panel
Click the pop-out icon and Brainbox detaches into its own window. Drag it to a second monitor, keep it next to whatever app you're using — it stays connected to your tabs even when you're not in Wavebox. You can pop out multiple panels at once, from different Spaces.
Unlike a browser extension sidebar, it stays with you wherever you go.
Convert Chats to Skills
Found a prompt that works well? Open the Chat Menu (☰), hover over the chat, click the kebab icon (⋮), and choose Convert to a Skill. Now it's a one-click action available from /s and the right-click menu, everywhere in Wavebox.
Smart Notes
Save any Brainbox output — a summary, translation, task list, analysis — as a Smart Note. It lives in your Wavebox sidebar, always one click away. No separate note-taking app needed.
Dashboard Widget
Drop the Brainbox chat panel onto any Dashboard so it's right there when you start your day.
Voice Input and Persona
Click the Voice input (🎙️) icon and dictate your prompt. And in Persona settings (labelled "About You" in the panel), you can tell Brainbox your name, writing style, and what you work on — so it stops sounding like a generic chatbot and starts sounding like you.
What Makes Brainbox Unique
It works across all your accounts
This is the big one. Most browser AI tools are limited to whichever account you're currently signed into. If you manage multiple Gmail accounts, Slack workspaces, or client portals, you'd normally need separate browser profiles — each with its own AI setup, its own history, its own context.
Brainbox works across every Space, every Group in Wavebox. @mention tabs from different accounts in the same chat. Compare, cross-reference, and pull context across account boundaries — because Wavebox's container-based session isolation makes it possible.
Built in, not bolted on
Brainbox is part of Wavebox. There's no third-party extension sitting between you and your data — everything goes directly to the AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) without passing through anyone else's servers. Each of your accounts is sandboxed separately, so no single tool gets blanket access to everything you're signed into.
A proper Skills system
Brainbox has a full Skills system with configurable triggers (selection only, page only, or both), Skill Variables for dynamic inputs like {{language}}, editable prompt templates, right-click integration on every page, and the ability to convert any chat into a Skill.
