How ChatGPT, Claude and Brainbox Tokens Work.

Wavebox users have two great ways to access ChatGPT and other AI features: directly through the ChatGPT website or via Brainbox, Wavebox’s own built-in AI panel, where you can switch between ChatGPT, Claude and Sonnet models in one place.

This article explains how token usage works in all these cases to help you make the most of AI Wavebox.

Quick Guide to LLMs in Brainbox

OpenAI Models

ChatGPT 5 Mini - OpenAI's efficient model for everyday tasks. Fast, reliable performance at a lower cost. Included in Brainbox's 1M monthly token allocation.
ChatGPT 5 Mini Reasoning - OpenAI's reasoning-focused model. Slower response times but excels at complex problem-solving and analysis. This is also included in Brainbox's 1M monthly token allocation.
ChatGPT 5 - OpenAI's flagship model with advanced reasoning capabilities. Uses tokens quickly due to higher cost per request. API key needed for use within Brainbox.

Anthropic Models (both need your own API key)

Claude 4 Sonnet - Anthropic's balanced model offering strong performance across diverse tasks. Moderate cost but will consume tokens faster than mini models.
Claude 4.1 Opus - Anthropic's most capable model with exceptional reasoning and creative abilities.

1. Using OpenAI and Anthropic Models as Websites

You can open chat.openai.com and https://claude.ai in a tab just like you would in any regular browser.
You can also add them as Apps from the App Store.
This usage is between you, OpenAI or Anthorpic directly. Wavebox does not have access to your conversations or account and does not manage any tokens.
You can sign-in to your accounts and save the credentials to stay signed-in.

2. Using Brainbox (Wavebox’s Built-in AI Panel)

Brainbox is Wavebox’s own AI assistant, built into the app.
In the Brainbox panel, you can choose from different Large Language Models (LLMs), including ChatGPT 5 Mini, ChatGPT Mini 5 Reasoning, GPT-5, Claude and Sonnet.
Free Monthly Tokens: Every user gets 1 million free tokens per month to use in Brainbox. Tokens are the units that determine how much you can interact with AI (similar to credits). Choose ChatGPT 5 Mini to get the most out of your token allocation.
If You Need More: If you use up your 1M free tokens, you can connect your own OpenAI and Anthropic API keys so you can continue to use them in Brainbox.
Reset Every Month: Your 1M free tokens reset on the first day of each month.

Summary

Use OpenAI, Anthropic—or any other AI service—as an app or tab in Wavebox. and sign-in using your own credentials, as you would in any other browser.
Brainbox offers 1 million free tokens each month to use with the ChatGPT 5 Mini model within the Wavebox environment.
Once you run out of those, you can switch to your own API key for OpenAI and Anthropic models.
