Webdock Guide: Switching Between Spaces and List Layout.
Choose between Spaces layout (one Space at a time) or List layout (all groups visible). Try both layouts before moving groups, apps, or tabs to decide which works best for your workflow.
Understanding Layout Modes
Wavebox offers two ways to organize your webdock:
- Spaces Layout (Default)
- Space icons appear as circles at the top of the Webdock.
- Below them are Groups (rounded squares) for the selected Space only.
- This is the default layout for all new users.
- Benefit: Introduces the concept of Spaces and lets you focus on one Space at a time.
- Displays all Groups from all Spaces in a single list.
- Groups can be separated by dividers to represent each Space.
- Benefit: Allows you to use Groups from separate Spaces side-by-side.
Switching Between Layouts
When you first switch to List layout, all your Groups appear in a long list with dividers visually separating them into their Spaces. Wavebox does its best to arrange them correctly, but sometimes Groups can appear under the wrong Space.
At first, this can feel disorienting and you may be tempted to start moving Groups and apps around. If you then switch back to Spaces layout, your Groups may be arranged differently than before.
With this in mind, we recommend you switch to List layout and use it for a while without making too many changes. Once youβre comfortable with how Spaces work, you can switch between layouts as often as you like.
β 3 Steps to Webdock Layout Switching
- Use List layout for a while first β get comfortable with how it works before moving or adding apps and Groups.
- Decide which layout you prefer β try switching between the two layouts without making many changes to help you decide.
- Reorganize if needed β once youβve chosen your preferred layout, make any changes you need.
This approach helps you avoid confusion and ensures your webdock stays organized regardless of which layout you choose.
